Snell Golf’s new Prime Golf Balls – “Performance for All”

Snell Golf has just launched their 2024 lineup of 3 new golf balls. The 3 new Prime balls are intended to cover a wider range of golfers, with a key focus on 3 core variables swing speed, feel, and spin. The Prime 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 replace last year’s Prime & Prime X offering.

I have been following Snell Golf for quite a few years, I have played most of their offering to test out and see what worked best for me. I was a huge fan of MTB Black and MTB X they launched in 2017 & 2019 respectively. Snell’s 2023 launch of MTB Prime & MTB Prime X was plagued with durability issues that caused some quicker-than-normal deterioration of the cover. Dean has been very upfront about this issue and worked on some retooling of material to fix it mid-year. It looks like he is launching fresh with these new golf balls.

About Snell

If you aren’t familiar with the Snell Golf brand, they are a direct-to-consumer brand trying to drive technology at an affordable price. They are also spearheaded by Dean Snell one of the fundamental individuals in the development of Titleist Profession, Original ProV1, Taylormade TP Red/Black, and Project(a), to name a few. In 2015 Dean spun off to launch his brand.

Snell Golf originally launched with 2 balls the My Tour Ball (Urethane Cover) and the Get Sum (Ionomor Cover). Both balls were fairly successful in each of their segments. The My Tour Ball, later shortened to MTB, became their performance Line to compete with the big brands. This has expanded from the original Ball to now 3 different offerings.

If you are unsure what ball fits you best Snell has thought of that, they have an online fitting tool for you to narrow down the options as well as Test packs for all 4 ball or “Tour” balls (Prime 3.0 & 4.0). Both options are a great way to get more information and help you decide. I personally have done their online fit and was recommended the Prime 3.0 or 4.0.
